Next episode of the podcast is still in the works, due to a busy work and personal schedule of late, so once again I have to fob you off with a classic bit of 80's memorabilia -- this YouTube clip of Imagic's television ad for Demon Attack. Imagic spent a lot of money on its TV ads, with elaborate costumes and a consistent style featuring the company's purported behind-the-scenes goings-on. Special techniques were needed to allow screenshots to appear on-set, adjusting the frame rate from 30 fps to 24 fps for the film cameras.
The ad probably appeared when the game was new -- the footage is taken from the Atari 2600 version, and it mentions the Intellivision version coming soon, with no mention of the myriad other versions eventually released for the Odyssey^2 and home computers.
