Elsewhere: Burgertime TV Commercial

Intellivision Productions, keepers of the console's flame with current re-releases, posted this YouTube video of a vintage television ad for Mattel's home versions of Data East's arcade hit, Burgertime.

The visual style is interesting -- the first shot appears to be an early use of a CG 3-D background, combined with traditional cel animation.

But it's the music that makes this one blogworthy -- it's an odd, remixed, eighties-ized pop version of the game's background theme, complete with generic blow-dried vocalists intoning, "Burgertime!" whenever the melody threatens to become interesting.
