Weekly roundup of downloadable games, new and "new":
WiiWare -- One game this week: Gravitronix, a shoot-'em-up with gravity effects. Looks like it could be fun in multiplayer mode, but there's no online support.
Virtual Console -- One new title, as Capcom releases Final Fight 2 for the SNES. The whole arcade scrolling beat-'em-up genre really isn't aging well -- these games tend to seem repetitive and strategically limited by modern standards. But the Final Fight series has always been reliable when one's in the mood for what it delivers in spades.
DSiWare -- Pinball Pulse: The Ancients Beckon, a pinball game with a Greek mythology theme. I can't speak to its quality, but the pinball genre is underrepresented on the DSi so it's good to see someone taking a run at it (and the title seems to hint at a series in the works.)
XBLA -- Last week saw two new titles released. Based on the long-running Trey Parker/Matt Stone animated series, South Park: Let's Go Tower Defense Play! brings humor and South Park fan service to the tower defense genre but has gotten mixed reviews from a gameplay standpoint. Lucasarts released Lucidity, a platform/puzzle game with lovely hand-painted backgrounds, but the forced-scrolling, assistive nature of play may not be to everyone's taste.
