We're paging through Jaguar's 1994 ad insert in Electronic Gaming Monthly magazine, and finally getting to some actual game advertisements. Click to enlarge these for a closer look, I won't have a lot of commentary to add.
Page 4 features Rebellion's Alien vs. Predator, an excellent game that spawned a series that continues to this day. This early first-person shooter features a boxy Wolfenstein-style engine, but the detailed, digitized character models and wall textures, with claustrophobic, tense play, made it a memorable experience.
id Software was also a supporter of the Jaguar, bringing a half-resolution, music-free, slightly-truncated but still very playable version of their seminal shooter DOOM to the console. And I have to give Atari credit for the "Oh @#%!! Out of ammo!" caption, capturing the game's feel nicely:
More to come next weekend!
