But eventually I managed to survive long enough to AT BAT (prepare by doing the SHOOT part before entering the room.) It probably took a good dozen tries.StillGaminghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18366215127642090500noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7274560874062585311.post-52462469758406709192011-01-04T12:20:08.487-08:002011-01-04T12:20:08.487-08:00Had to give up on this one after reaching the bat-...Had to give up on this one after reaching the bat-infested cave. Was never granted the opportunity to defend myself as no amount of random attempts allowed me to move South of the main entrance without being instantaneously smitten by a blood-thirsty bat (and I did attempt this a good 20 times or so to no avail).Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7274560874062585311.post-82405759673405318462011-01-03T19:47:54.629-08:002011-01-03T19:47:54.629-08:00Thanks for the kind words. I didn't run into ...Thanks for the kind words. I didn't run into any problems with the SAVE GAME in Forbidden Planet, but maybe this will help - I loaded the game from drive 1 and had a writable NEWDOS boot disk in drive 0 and another writable disk in drive 2, with some free space on both. When I use the SAVE GAME, it seems to access both drives along the way -- and both of those disk images get updated, but not the disk with PLANET/CMD on it. The only visible artifact is that it creates a TADV/GAM file on drive 2.StillGaminghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18366215127642090500noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7274560874062585311.post-44083637608859775002011-01-03T14:59:10.145-08:002011-01-03T14:59:10.145-08:00Fantastic blog. I think its great that you chose to cover some of these early, obscure, and ofttimes forgotten text adventures for the TRS-80.

By the way, is there a trick to getting the "save game" feature to work properly? Every copy I've loaded consistently gives me a disk error when I attempt to save my progress, effectively making this one unplayable for me.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7274560874062585311.post-15531243543781955172010-12-30T05:08:12.049-08:002010-12-30T05:08:12.049-08:00The best I have been able to determine is that Wil...The best I have been able to determine is that William Demas started an online service company or two in the Las Vegas area; I've made a few attempts to reach him at related email addresses, but no luck so far. Maybe he'll run across this post and get in touch.StillGaminghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18366215127642090500noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7274560874062585311.post-50424769895631053992010-12-29T20:10:21.968-08:002010-12-29T20:10:21.968-08:00I would be interested to know what happened to Wil...I would be interested to know what happened to Willima Demas. As far as I remember he was a teen when he did his work on Golden Voyage.

I lost touch with him a long time ago and would be curious to know what became of him. He seemed to be really sharp and have great potential.Scott Adamshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05181674638039148658noreply@blogger.com
